Manager, Distribution Centre.
Job Descriptions:
1. Assist immediate superior to plan, organize and manage daily, weekly and monthly routine processes, assignment, duties, and task at receiving, put away, storage, picking, sorting, allocate, checking, and loading departments.
- Verify that all SOPs are being practiced correctly for each assignment, duties and tasks by all departments/section person in charge.
- Audit all the departments to make sure all processes are done as per SOP.
- Verify that all daily, weekly and monthly reports and records are properly kept and continuously done.
- Verify that all reports and documentation properly kept for easy access verification and audit purposes.
2. Assist immediate superior on any daily, weekly, monthly, or ad hoc requirements for presentation, meetings, assignment, task, and special projects.
- Analyze all daily, weekly, monthly or ad hoc reporting and documentation in detail.
- Compile all the findings/root cause/assessment and submit a solution.
- Decide the agreed recommendation and finalize the presentation material for submission to senior SLOG management.
3. Assist immediate superior to develop the team’s human pool development, whilst providing sound, safe and secure feeling at workplace.
- Work to achieve all agreed HR Department targeted by implementing floor walks, coaching and training as per approved plan.
- Verify that all daily human pool development done via respective department assessment as per HR department guidelines.
- Finalize staffs interview assessment and talent review for submission every end of the month.
4. Help to assure that Distribution Centre (DC) operational workflow stays in line with the expected productivity aspiration and achievable operational targets by reducing further operational cost/expense, inventory shrinkage/surpluses, overtime cost, MHE cost and repairs.
- Verify the implement the plan to minimize usage, wear and tear of all equipment used by DC Operations via observation and comparison.
- Audit all overtime cost control practice by way of workload justification when filling up and submission of OT request forms.
- Verify that the implementation of checking and following up on all daily inventory related documentation records and daily submission are being done.
- Verify that the plan to reduce diesel consumption and encourage effective use of all machineries at operations floor by monitoring current available records are being enforced.
5. Assist any department under other Business Units by complying, adhering, and following their standard requirement in terms of daily standards practices, quality control and quality assurance.
- Verify that all the basic daily requirements from other business units with regards to DC operational matter and execution by personal engagement with QC, Buying and COT teams are being met and monitored.
- Comply with the set of rules and processes enforced by other business units when it comes to dealing with Vendors and Stores during receiving and returns activities.
6. Assist to coordinate and ensure that any stock count exercises and stock count reconciliation is being done according to Standard Processes and in a timely manner.
- Verify that the support plan needed by DC Operation management team and help to coordinate manpower to complete monthly stock count exercise as per Inventory Audit guidelines are being executed.
- Verify that all DC Standard Processes for monthly stock Count as per Inventory Audit guidelines are being enforced.
- Finalize with DC Inventory the analysis of stock count reconciliation process before submission to Inventory Audit HQ.
7. Understand and deliver agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPI), Values, Mission, and Vision as per Company’s target.
- Verify all the plan to deliver all agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPI), Values, Mission and Vision as per- Company’s target and expectation by engaging in related DC meetings with DC Operations and DC Inventory are being done.
8. Carry out, undertake and perform any other special Project, related duties assigned by immediate Superior from time to time.
- Commit highly to complete out of scope tasks or extended duties asked to be carried out, undertaken and performed by immediate Superior from time to time.
Job Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or any other relevant fields.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years as an Assistant Manager in a Distribution Centre, with prior experience in fresh, ambient, dry, or frozen environments within warehousing, distribution, or retail businesses.
- Maintains a positive attitude and is always eager to learn new things.
- Presentable, well-groomed, and consistently maintains a neat appearance.
- Demonstrates strong leadership qualities, with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Works well with others, respects different viewpoints, and values collaboration.
- An attentive listener, always willing to help, and takes initiative to improve processes and support the team.
- Willing to work in Gopeng.
