Job Description: Site Surveyor/Project Engineer Position Title: Site Surveyor/Project Engineer Department: Engineering & Project Management Reports To: Project Manager/Operations Manager Location: Various Client Sites Employment Type: Full-time / Contract Job Summary: The Site Surveyor/Project Engineer plays a critical role in the successful execution of fire protection and ACMV (Air Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation) engineering projects. This individual is responsible for conducting site surveys, preparing project plans, overseeing installation and commissioning, and ensuring that all work complies with the company’s quality standards and client requirements. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. A. Key Responsibilities: 1. Site Surveying and Assessment: - Conduct detailed site surveys to gather data on existing conditions and identify potential challenges. - Prepare accurate site survey reports, including sketches, measurements, and photographs. - Assess the suitability of the site for project execution, identifying any potential risks or issues. 2. Project Planning and Coordination: - Assist in the preparation of project plans, schedules, and budgets. - Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure that all project requirements are met. - Prepare and submit all necessary documentation, including permits, licenses, and approvals. 3. Installation and Commissioning: - Oversee the installation of fire protection systems, ACMV systems, and related equipment according to project specifications. - Ensure all installations comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and client expectations. - Conduct testing and commissioning of systems to verify proper operation and performance. 4. Quality Control and Compliance: - Monitor project progress to ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards. - Identify and resolve any issues that arise during installation, commissioning, or testing. - Ensure all work is performed in compliance with local regulations, codes, and standards. 5. Reporting and Documentation: - Maintain detailed records of all site activities, including daily logs, progress reports, and inspection records. - Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the Project Manager and clients. - Document any changes to the project scope and obtain client approvals as necessary. 6. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): - Implement and enforce HSE policies and procedures on-site to ensure a safe working environment. - Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards or violations immediately. - Participate in safety meetings and training sessions as required. 7. Client Relations: - Act as the primary point of contact for clients on-site, addressing any concerns or inquiries. - Maintain a professional and positive relationship with clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction. - Provide technical support and advice to clients throughout the project lifecycle. B. Qualifications and Skills: - Education: - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. - Professional certification in fire protection or ACMV systems is an advantage. - Experience: - Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in site surveying, project engineering, or a related role in the fire protection or ACMV industry. - Proven track record of successful project execution in a contracting environment. - Technical Skills: - Strong knowledge of fire protection systems, ACMV systems, and relevant codes and standards. - Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, and other relevant software. - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications. - Soft Skills: - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure. - Other Requirements: - Willingness to travel and work at various client sites. - Valid driver’s license. - Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards. C. Working Conditions: - The role involves working on construction sites, which may include exposure to various weather conditions and physical demands. - Occasional weekend or evening work may be required to meet project deadlines. D.
