A Public Relations Manager, is responsible for managing an organization’s communication initiatives, specifically with media personnel. Their duties include overseeing a team of public relations professionals to delegate tasks, writing or editing press releases prior to publication and helping their company organize press conferences and other events.Develop marketing strategies that align with the organization's business goals
1. Public Relations
· Develop, define and execute PR communications strategies in consultation with respective stakeholders and business partners to increase group brand awareness.
· Formulate a holistic and strategic communication framework that is aligned with the Group’s overarching global strategy.
· Propose and/or collaborate with other teams to implement creative PR campaigns and secure coverage beyond our products and services, including but not limited to ESG/CSR campaigns.
· Identify opportunities for media placements, executive interviews, PR events and partnerships with the overall aim of growing brand awareness among target audiences.
· Work closely with internal/external partners to create compelling contents with well-defined and consistent messages and develop fact-based stories for pitching to the media.
· Generate PR outcomes in the local market; ensure communication plans are executed in a timely manner and delivered within the allocated budget.
2. Crisis/Risk Management
· Support in identifying risks which could impact the Group and its brands, recommend and put in place measures to minimize the risks.
· Evaluate PR risks, react to crisis situations and manage escalation of issues promptly.
· Review public-facing contents prepared by Business Units/ departments to minimize PR risks at all times.
3. Media Relations
· Play an engaging role and maintain good relationships with targeted mainstream local and global media representatives in the market, and strategise the media engagement programs aimed at fulfilling the Group's PR goals.
4. Others
· Monitor and analyse our competitors from both the global and local perspectives, and recommend the required course of action to maintain our competitiveness.
Identify, establish and sustain strategic partnerships and collaborations with key organizations to expand our presence and visibility in the market.
· Minimum 5 years of Public Relations, Integrated Communications or Journalism experience; candidates with experience in other SEA markets will have an advantage.
· Proven track record in securing global coverage and executing PR campaigns/activities.
· Strong network of contacts and relationships with local and global media required.
· Experience of managing PR activities in the local market.
· Strong communications skills in English and local languages, including writing and editing skills.
· Demonstrate an understanding of mainstream international media platforms, international media work experience desired.
· Strategic and out-of-the box thinking when developing PR ideas; experience in social media marketing and creative campaigns desired.
