We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction processes, cost management, and contract administration. This role is critical in ensuring that projects are completed within budget and to the required quality standards. The Quantity Surveyor will work closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to manage the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects, considering all aspects such as labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
  • Budget Management: Monitor and control project costs, track expenditure, and advise on cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
  • Tendering: Assist in preparing and submitting tenders, including analyzing tender documents and liaising with contractors.
  • Contract Administration: Manage contracts throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with terms, handling variations, and overseeing claims.
  • Measurement and Valuation: Conduct regular site visits to measure work done, assess project progress, and ensure compliance with contract specifications.
  • Reporting: Provide regular financial reports to clients and project managers, including forecasts of project costs, risks, and value engineering.
  • Cost Control: Review invoices and payment certificates from contractors and suppliers to ensure accuracy and timely payments.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks related to cost, quality, and time.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure cost-effective solutions are implemented and deliver the project on time.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Professional certification (e.g., MRICS, RICS, or similar) is preferred but not mandatory.
  • 3years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in [specific industry, e.g., construction, infrastructure, etc.].
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal aspects of construction contracts.
  • Proficiency in cost estimating and cost control software.
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
