Housekeeping Supervisor
Job Description
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring that all areas are clean, well-maintained, and meet the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. This role involves managing housekeeping staff, coordinating cleaning schedules, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Staff Management:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of housekeeping staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating performance.
- Schedule staff shifts and assign specific tasks to ensure efficient operations.
- Provide ongoing training and support to housekeeping staff to promote high standards of cleanliness and service.
Quality Control:
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities to ensure cleanliness and adherence to company standards.
- Address any cleanliness issues or guest complaints promptly and effectively.
- Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure consistent service delivery.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Place orders for cleaning supplies and ensure proper storage and handling of all materials.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory usage and costs.
Health and Safety Compliance:
- Ensure all cleaning procedures comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Train staff on safe handling and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Conduct safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
Guest Interaction:
- Respond to guest requests and inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
- Foster a positive environment that promotes guest satisfaction and repeat business.
Administrative Duties:
- Assist in preparing departmental budgets and managing expenses.
- Maintain accurate records of staff attendance, payroll, and performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate special events or projects.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in hospitality management or related field is a plus.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, as well as safety and sanitation regulations.
Working Conditions:

Certifications:
- Certification in safety and sanitation practices may be required or preferred.
- First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
