JOB POSITION: MULTI AXIS CNC WIRECUT EDM SPECIALIST LASER AUTOMATION ENGINEERING SDN BHD seeks a MULTI AXIS CNC WIRECUT EDM SPECIALIST to help design test our planned upcoming projects with crate dependable, hardworking products benefitting out company’s name • Program multi-axis CNC Wirecut EDM machines using CAM software • Set up Wirecut EDM machines, including alignment of workpieces using precision fixtures. • Operate 3-axis to 5-axis EDM machines with advanced motion control. • Develop and simulate Wirecut EDM toolpaths using CAD/CAM software. • Modify programs based on machine behavior and part requirements. • Use G-code and conversational programming specific to EDM technology. • Read and interpret complex blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical documents. • Install electrodes and wire spool, ensuring correct tension and tracking. • Understand different EDM strategies • Set up and operate multi-axis CNC machines for part pre-machining prior to Wire EDM finishing. • Machine precise pre-drilled starter holes or EDM access notches using CNC machining centers, ensuring positional accuracy • Analyze and interpret SPC data for process improvements. • Optimize cycle times while preserving surface integrity and geometry. • Identify and correct any deviation in cut paths or part finishes. • Optimize cutting parameters for various materials and geometries. • Perform test runs and make necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy. • Manufacture hybrid tooling with both CNC-milled pockets and Wirecut EDM profiles to support operations like press-fitting, indexing, or high-precision locating. • Stay updated with latest EDM trends, technologies, and software. • Participate in workshops or certification courses to enhance skills. • Lockout-tagout procedures during maintenance or repair. • Report near misses and safety incidents promptly • Evaluate and implement new tooling or technology. • Reduce waste and enhance throughput through lean techniques. Required Skills: The required skills for the position MULTI AXIS CNC WIRECUT EDM SPECIALIST are as follow: Min 5 years experience in MULTI AXIS CNC WIRECUT EDM Candidate must possess relevant education certification Proficiency in CAD/CAM software Experience with multi-axis CNC machining Experience in using NDT methods. Ability to generate toolpaths optimized for machining. Expertise in programming for CNC machines Knowledge of post-processing techniques for various CNC controllers Proficiency in using precision measuring tools Ability to conduct SPC and RCA.
