The purpose of this role is to ensure the optimal efficiency of mechanical systems within the plant by maximizing equipment availability and reliability. This position emphasizes the development, implementation, and management of a comprehensive Preventative Maintenace Management System (PMMS) designed to uphold high standards the operational performance. By proactively identifying maintenance needs and scheduling timely interventions, the Mechanical Planner plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, enhancing equipment longevity, and ultimately contributing to the overall productivity and success of the plant.

  • Maintain a high level of a safety throughout all Mechanical activities.
  • Utilize the PMMS (OnKey) to develop and maintain Preventative Work Orders (S-Job Cards) for mechanical maintenance tasks.
  • Manage spares planning by liaising with the mechanical team and warehouse personnel.
  • Manage shutdown and project planning to ensure they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Oversees and manages appointed contractors responsible for mechanical work to ensure project efficiency and compliance with standards.

  • REQUIREMENT:

    Minimum qualification of Diploma in Mechanical engineering or equivalent Degree in Mechanical would be an advantage.

    At least 3 years of working experience with typical equipment like furnaces, crushers, conveyors, fittings, pumps, drilling, gearboxes, overhead cranes and hydraulics in a heavy industrial environment would be distinct advantage.

    Previous experience in working with a computerizes PMMS.

    Previous experience in maintenance planning and scheduling will be advantageous.
