As the Executive Chef with a Training Focus, you will oversee the entire culinary operation while actively leading and developing our kitchen team. In addition to managing kitchen operations, you will be responsible for designing and implementing training programs to enhance the culinary skills of all staff members, ensuring that each team member excels in their role. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of exceptional culinary skills, leadership abilities, and a dedication to team development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the culinary team, ensuring consistent and high-quality food production in a fast-paced environment.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate training programs for kitchen staff at all levels, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants.
- Mentor and support staff, providing hands-on training to enhance culinary skills, improve kitchen efficiency, and ensure consistency in food quality and presentation.
- Collaborate with the management team to create and update menus, ensuring creativity, seasonal offerings, and alignment with customer preferences.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized kitchen environment, ensuring all food safety and sanitation regulations are adhered to.
- Oversee kitchen operations, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and controlling food costs.
- Develop training materials, guides, and other resources to support kitchen staff development.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the kitchen, encouraging staff to stay updated on culinary trends and techniques.
- Evaluate team performance, provide feedback, and identify areas for improvement or additional training.
- Work closely with front-of-house management to ensure seamless collaboration between kitchen and service teams.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or in a senior kitchen leadership role (minimum of 10 years).
- Strong background in culinary arts with expertise in western cuisine.
- Extensive experience in staff training, mentoring, and developing culinary talent.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Ability to develop and implement effective training programs that cater to different skill levels.
- Thorough knowledge of food safety regulations, kitchen hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as needed.
- Culinary degree or certification from a recognized institution is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of food costing, menu planning, and inventory management.
- Familiarity with restaurant management software or kitchen systems.
