Job Title: Safety & Health Officer (SHO) Location: W.P.Labuan, Malaysia Company: DB LOGISTICS (L) SDN. BHD Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and proactive SHO to oversee safety, health, and operational practices within our logistics operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HSE, with specific experience in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries and/or logistics, including warehouse operations. Key Responsibilities: • Liaison: Be the main contact between the contractor and company to ensure smooth communication and teamwork. • Compliance: Make sure the contractor’s safety measures meet company standards and Malaysian safety laws. • Advisory: Guide both the contractor and company management on safety, quality, and environmental issues. • Government Communication: Work with authorities and the company to ensure legal compliance. • Site Safety: Oversee all safety activities on the contractor’s worksite to keep it safe. • Data Management: Collect, organize, and store all safety and security data as required by regulations. • Incident Prevention: Stop unsafe actions or conditions that could lead to accidents. • Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents, report findings, and determine the root cause. • OHS Programs: Help develop and promote safety programs within the organization. • Risk Assessment: Identify and address risks to prevent workplace hazards. • Training: Lead safety training sessions to raise awareness and promote safety. • Inspection: Regularly check that safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) are being followed. Experience and Qualification • 5 years in HSE: At least 5 years of experience in the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) field. • Industry Experience: Experience in oil, gas, petrochemical, or logistics/warehouse operations is a plus. • DOSH Registered: At least 3 years as a DOSH Registered Safety & Health Officer (SHO). • Education: A Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, or a similar field. • Industry Knowledge: Familiar with safety measures in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries. • Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of safety laws and regulations for workplace health and safety.
