The Special Education Teacher is responsible for designing and implementing individualized educational programs for students with special needs, promoting their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. In addition to weekday teaching responsibilities, the teacher is also expected to lead and manage weekend playgroup sessions to support developmental learning through play.

Weekday Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to students’ needs.
  • Use differentiated instruction methods and adaptive technologies to support learning.
  • Provide direct instruction in academic, social, communication, and life skills.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with therapists, parents, and other educators for integrated support.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and structured classroom environment.
  • Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and progress reports.
  • Attend team meetings, case conferences, and training workshops.

Weekend Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate weekend playgroup sessions for young children with special needs.
  • Plan and conduct developmentally appropriate play-based activities that encourage interaction, sensory exploration, and communication.
  • Guide parents/caregivers on how to support developmental goals through play.
  • Observe and assess children’s participation, providing informal feedback to families.
  • Ensure safety, engagement, and positive interactions among all participants.
  • Coordinate with co-facilitators, volunteers, and support staff during sessions.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM1,500.00 - RM2,100.00 per month
