Role Overview
As the Sales Manager – Events, you are a hunter—proactively seeking, engaging, and converting leads into revenue-generating event bookings. Your primary focus is on identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with corporate and social event clients, and securing contracts. Once an event is confirmed, the planning and execution will be handled by the event planning team.
You will thrive in this role if you are target-driven, proactive, and excel at networking and closing deals.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Proactively source, qualify, and convert leads into event bookings.
- Identify and target potential clients in key market segments for events (corporate, social & residential groups).
- Conduct outbound sales appointments, including cold calling, networking, entertaining clients, and attending industry events.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet and exceed event revenue targets.
- Build strong relationships with corporate decision-makers, event agencies, wedding planners, and destination management companies (DMCs) and client themselves for social events.
- Represent ELSE Kuala Lumpur at networking events, trade shows, and industry forums to expand market reach.
- Stay informed on market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to refine sales strategies.
Client Acquisition & Negotiation
- Conduct compelling sales presentations and site inspections to showcase ELSE’s event spaces.
- Customize proposals based on client needs, highlighting unique selling points.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to close deals while maximizing profitability.
- Work closely with the Director of Sales to strategize and optimize sales efforts.
Handover & Internal Collaboration
- Once an event is secured, provide a clear handover to the event planning team for execution.
- Collaborate with internal departments (Marketing, Food & Beverage, Front Office) to ensure seamless transitions.
- Maintain strong communication with the event planning team to ensure client expectations are met.
Sales Reporting & Performance Tracking
- Track sales activity, lead conversions, and revenue performance against targets.
- Prepare sales reports and market insights for management review.
- Maintain an updated CRM database with client interactions and follow-ups.

- Strong network in the corporate, events, or hospitality industry is a plus.
