Job scope : 1. • Animal Care & Monitoring: • Feeding and Hydration: Administer meals and fresh water to hospitalized animals according to their dietary needs or veterinarian instructions. • Administering Medication: Assist with the administration of prescribed medication to animals, including oral medication, or topical treatments. • Observing Health and Emotional Well-being: Monitor animals for signs of illness or discomfort, reporting any changes in behavior, appetite, or symptoms to the veterinarian or nurse, and offer comfort to anxious or stressed animals. • Grooming: Keep animals clean and well-groomed, including brushing, and maintaining their bedding. • Assisting with Procedures: Help restrain animals during examinations, treatments, or minor procedures under the guidance of veterinary staff. 2. Facility Maintenance & Cleanliness: • Cleaning and Sanitizing: Regularly clean cages, kennels, and treatment areas, ensuring the environment is safe and hygienic for animals and staff. • Waste Disposal: Handle the proper disposal of animal waste, bedding, and any other waste material, following clinic protocols to maintain a clean space. • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that medical and feeding equipment is clean and in good working order. 3. Patient Transport: • Transporting Animals: Safely move animals to and from different areas within the clinic, such as the examination room, treatment area, or surgical ward, ensuring minimal stress. • Assisting with Transfers: Help transfer animals to and from the clinic for appointments, surgeries, or emergency care when necessary. 4. Inventory & Supply Management: • Inventory Tracking: Help track inventory of the patient’s own food, consumables and certain medical supplies, and other necessary items, notifying the Vet Nurse or Coordinator when supplies are running low. • Storage: Ensure that all consumables, medical supplies, and food are properly stored according to safety guidelines and inventory protocols. • Wastage: Optimize the usage of all supplies in order to reduce wastage. 5. Emergency Support: • Assisting in Emergencies: Respond to emergency situations by helping with animal stabilization, preparing treatment areas, and ensuring that necessary supplies are on hand. • Handling Critical Cases: Remain alert to high-stress or critical cases, helping the veterinary team manage large or aggressive animals. 6. Specialized Care (If Applicable): • Neonatal Care: For clinics that treat young or newborn animals, assisting in their care by ensuring warmth, feeding, and medical attention. • Post-Surgical Care: Providing care for animals recovering from surgery, including monitoring their vital signs, administering pain relief, and ensuring comfort. 7. Sensitive/Restricted Areas: • Prohibited to enter the grooming and boarding area without Veterinarian’s permission to avoid disease transmission. 8. Any other duties deemed necessary to ensure smooth daily operations. *Job Requirements* • Secondary 3 or above will be considered. • Experience working with animal is beneficial. • Available to work occasional overtime
