Salary Range: RM3,200 - RM6,000 Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated RF Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining radio frequency (RF) systems and components. This role involves working on a range of wireless communication technologies, ensuring optimal system performance, and troubleshooting complex RF-related issues. The candidate also need proactive candidates with high commitment and right attitude to work on the industrial project entitled “RF Semiconductor Ceramic Filter Design, Modelling, and Characterization for Implementation on integrated ceramic waveguide block, with Device and System Evaluation on Wireless System Evaluation Kit at Gigahertz frequency. Executive Summary of Research Proposal: 5G systems are 10x as fast and 100x larger in network capacity as a 4G system. The new technology system requires smaller form factors, more advanced performance requirements, and above all, lower manufacturing costs. Microwave filters are an essential component of a cellular base station, used to cancel system noise and to provide isolation between transmit and receive channels. Cellular base stations widely use low cost, high Q coaxial TEM filters. Despite having good electrical performance, they suffer from large physical volume which is needs to be reduced in future cellular systems. The dielectric loaded filters and waveguide filters offer high Q but have poor out of band rejection due to their crowded mode spectrum. In this proposal a high permittivity integrated ceramic waveguide filter which offers 50% size reduction in comparison with conventional coaxial TEM filters is proposed. The high-performance ceramic loaded waveguide filter prototype will be locally mathematically synthesized and designed and fabricated to achieve low loss (high Q) less than 1 dB and high stopband rejection of 50 dB at operation frequency band from 3 GHz to 4 GHz. The prototypes will be tested and validated to meet the industrial filter specifications which is ideal for 5G massive MIMO antennae and small cell integration. The project is aimed to develop the local product and manufacturing capability in terms of human capital, design and fabrication house riding on the strong market demand driven by 5G applications. It is also served to consolidate and integrate the upstream design chain to downstream product manufacturing locally. Key Responsibilities: Design and Development: Design RF systems, including antennas, filters, amplifiers, and transceivers. Develop and optimize RF circuits and layouts for performance and efficiency. Testing and Analysis: Conduct RF system testing, including lab measurements and field testing. Perform signal integrity analysis, spectrum analysis, and interference testing. Troubleshoot RF issues using spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and oscilloscopes. Optimization: Improve RF system performance through tuning, impedance matching, and power optimization. Analyze and mitigate electromagnetic interference (EMI) and compatibility issues. Collaboration: Work closely with hardware and software teams to integrate RF systems into products. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system-level design considerations. Documentation and Compliance: Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications and test reports. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field. Fresh graduates or experienced engineers are both acceptable. Hands-on experience with RF measurement equipment. Understanding of wireless communication protocols (e.g., LTE, 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth). Knowledge of antenna theory, modulation techniques, and RF propagation. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Preferred Skills: Proficiency in RF design tools such as ADS, HFSS, CST, or MATLAB. Experience with PCB design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, KiCAD). Familiarity with embedded systems and microcontroller integration. Knowledge of RF regulatory certification processes. Good at Circuit Modeling Have high interest in pursuing master’s degree In RF Microwave Filter Design
