Responsibilities include preparing animals for surgery, administering anesthesia, assisting during surgeries, and managing post-operative care to ensure optimal recovery. 4. Medical Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous and detailed medical records for all animals treated. Accurately document all care processes, treatments administered, and post-treatment follow-ups to ensure continuity and quality of care. 5. Staff Management and Training: Assist in the onboarding and scheduling of veterinary paraprofessionals. Lead technical training and coordinate development programs, including in-house and supplier webinars, on-the-job training, and online self-learning applications. 6. Inventory and Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with legislation concerning the recording, labeling, storage, and disposal of poisons and psychotropic substances. Manage inventory to reduce shrinkage and discrepancies in vet products, medicines, and consumables. 7. Equipment and Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and operation of all laboratory and clinical equipment, including calibration, quality control, and basic cleaning. Ensure that diagnostic imaging equipment operates within legal standards and safety guidelines. 8. Clinical Waste Management: Manage all aspects of clinical waste disposal, maintaining safety and compliance with health regulations. 9. Client Care and Education: Act as a primary contact for clients, providing guidance on pet health and preventive care, and ensuring a high level of customer service and satisfaction. 10. Patient Monitoring: Monitor the condition of animals under treatment, providing necessary medical interventions as directed by the veterinarian. 11. Flexible Availability: Available to work occasional overtime to meet the needs of the clinic and ensure continuous care for patients. 12. Adaptable Responsibilities: Perform any other duties as necessary, adapting to the evolving needs of the practice. Qualifications - Minimum requirement: Diploma in Animal Health and Production, or equivalent - Experience working in veterinary practice is beneficial. - Able to work on weekend and public holiday
