
NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR (fresh graduate also welcome to apply)
Position Title: Network Administrator
Location: IMAS- Primary school
Reports To: IT Head
Department: Information Technology
Employment Type: Full-Time
*PURPOSE
To plan, administer, and operates the school computers and internet network to
ensure stable, secure and easy communication and transmission of data and
information.
*RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
1. Network Infrastructure Management
Configure, monitor, and maintain FortiGate firewalls, including security policies,
VPN access, application control, and web filtering.
Manage Meraki switches and wireless access points, including VLAN segmentation,
SSID management, and device provisioning.
Proactively monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues to
ensure minimal disruption to learning and operations.
Ensure high availability and redundancy for internet access, including failover
configuration and uptime monitoring.
Maintain and verify backup of servers/systems.
2.Cybersecurity and Compliance
Implement security best practices across all network layers.
Regularly review and audit firewall and switch configurations to ensure compliance
with internal policies and data protection requirements.
Support secure connectivity for the school’s online shop and enforce.
3.User and Device Support
Provide second-level support for users, particularly for Google Workspace for Education issues (email, Drive, Classroom, etc.).
Maintain and support student and staff Chromebooks, including device enrollment, user access, and basic troubleshooting.
Offer technical support for classroom AV equipment including projectors, smartboards, and presentation systems.
Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure instructional technology is functioning smoothly in all learning spaces.
4.Collaboration and Documentation
Work with the Head of IT on network expansion planning, budgeting, and vendor
engagement.
Keep accurate documentation of network architecture, configurations, troubleshooting steps, and user support procedures.
Coordinate with internal teams and third-party service providers during
implementation or troubleshooting activities.
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
Qualifications
University degree in the field of computer science/computer engineering with a focus
on network design and administration.
Professional Training courses and certificates CCNA/CCNP (preferred).
Certifications such as Fortinet NSE 4/5, Cisco Meraki CMNA, or CompTIA Network+ are preferred.
Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in network administration
Practical experience managing and supporting Google Workspace for Education.
Experience supporting and managing Chromebooks in a school environment.
Working knowledge of audio-visual technologies including projectors and
smartboards.
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs, and network monitoring
tools.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Qualities and Competencies
Able to install, support, and troubleshoot server and PC hardware components and
peripherals.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
