Accounts Assistant

Job Purpose: Support financial operations by maintaining accurate cost records, managing inventory systems, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Key focus areas include cost analysis, system management, and asset tracking. Key Responsibilities: Costing Analyze production/material costs and prepare variance reports against standard BOMs (Bill of Materials). Collaborate with production and procurement teams to update standard costs and optimize spending. Assist in month-end closing by reconciling cost accounts and identifying discrepancies. Support cost accountants in preparing cost forecasts and profitability analyses. Manage Cube System Inventory Maintain and update the Cube inventory/asset management system to ensure real-time data accuracy. Reconcile system data with physical inventory counts and financial records. Generate reports for audits, budget planning, and financial reviews. Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate with IT for workflow improvements. Asset Inventory Management Track fixed assets (e.g., machinery, equipment) and maintain depreciation schedules. Conduct periodic physical inventory audits and resolve discrepancies. Prepare monthly/year-end inventory valuation reports for financial statements. Ensure compliance with inventory control policies and tax regulations. Skills & Qualifications: Technical: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Cube inventory software. Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) for cost modeling and data analysis. Knowledge of GAAP/IFRS standards for cost accounting and asset management. Analytical: Ability to interpret financial data and identify cost-saving opportunities. Organizational: Strong attention to detail for reconciling high-volume transactions. Communication: Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, production, and finance teams. Education & Experience: Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 2+ years of experience in cost accounting or inventory management roles. Additional Notes: Role may require occasional physical inventory checks in warehouses/production sites. Experience with manufacturing or logistics environments is a plus.
