Key Responsibilities: Perform stress, strain, and deformation analysis on metal parts during and after stamping processes using analytical and simulation tools (e.g., FEA). Collaborate with design, tooling, and production teams to assess material suitability, predict potential failures, and propose design improvements. Evaluate and interpret mechanical properties such as tensile strength, yield strength, hardness, and fatigue characteristics of various metal materials. Conduct forming simulations to validate part geometry and tooling concepts before production (using software like AutoForm, Abaqus, ANSYS, or LS-DYNA). Investigate root causes of stamping defects (e.g., cracks, wrinkles, springback) and recommend corrective measures. Support process optimization to reduce material wastage, improve part quality, and extend tool life. Maintain a database of material characteristics and stress analysis reports for future reference and R&D. Collaborate in the selection of new materials or alternative alloys based on performance requirements and cost-efficiency. Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation for internal use and customer presentation.
