For the EHS Officer position, will primarily be responsible for managing environmental, health, and safety (EHS) practices within the company. This includes overseeing waste disposal, conducting site inspections, investigating incidents, ensuring compliance with regulations, and organizing EHS training. They will also support the company's ISO certification efforts, liaise with regulatory bodies like DOE, DOSH, and BOMBA, and play an active role in promoting a safe and compliant work environment.
Responsibilities
· Organize the disposal of the company’s scheduled wastes.
· Conduct field tours to oversee the site environmental, health and safety matters.
· Report and advise the management on any environmental, health and safety non-compliances and where to improve.
· Investigate and report any environmental incidents, unsafe situations, near misses and accidents.
· Coordinate and organize any environmental, health and safety related briefings & trainings.
· Play the role of secretary in the Safety Health Environmental and Welfare (SHEW) committee.
· To be actively involved in the ISO Environmental Management System & Occupational Health & Safety Management System.
· To actively participate in the company’s Legrand Way activities pertaining to environment, health & safety matters.
· Communicate with DOE, DOSH and BOMBA regulatory personnel as and when necessary.
· Organize activities related to DOE, DOSH and BOMBA.
· Be responsible to select and attend the environmental, and safety & health external trainings to meet own’s Continuing Professional Development Points (CPD) and Continuing Education Programme (CEP) requirements.
· Any other matters as and when required by the management.
Requirements:
- Must have CePSWaM (Certified Environmental Professional in Scheduled Waste Management) certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in EHS roles, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- In-depth knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations and standards.
- Familiarity with industry-specific EHS requirements and best practices.
- Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and hazard identification techniques.
- Excellent knowledge of incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Experience in developing and delivering EHS training programs.
- Proficient in analyzing data and preparing reports.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Professional certifications in EHS (e.g. OSHA) are desirable.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Demonstrate ability to work on assigned welding works and its processes/activities, ensuring minimum errors and quality work in accordance to production deadlines
- Maintain safe workplace practices, adhering to the Company’s Health & Safety procedures at all times.
Working Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Weekdays), 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM (Alternate Saturday)
Allowance: Transport allowance RM 150
