
Accountant cum Auditor
This role involves maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with regulations, including tax filings.
Accounting Responsibilities:
- Maintaining Financial Records: Keeping a full set of accounts, including general ledger, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Preparing Financial Statements: Preparing and finalising financial statements for external use and internal reporting.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assisting with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Reconciling Accounts: Reconciling bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Audit Responsibilities:
Conducting Audits:
Performing assurance activities and documenting audit procedures according to professional standards.
Identifying and Mitigating Risks:
Identifying and mitigating auditing risks through robust testing procedures.
Analyzing Financial Data:
Examining and analyzing accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports.
Preparing Audit Reports:
Preparing detailed audit reports and presenting findings to senior management.
Liaising with Clients:
Collaborating with clients to understand their business processes and internal controls.
Tax Responsibilities (in some cases):
- Tax Compliance: Preparing statutory tax filings and identifying developments that impact tax compliance.
- Tax Computations: Preparing and finalising tax computations.
- Liaising with Tax Authorities: Communicating with tax authorities as needed.
Other Responsibilities:
- Ensuring Compliance: Ensuring the company's adherence to financial regulations and legislation.
- Improving Financial Practices: Facilitating and improving financial practices and procedures within the company.
- Time Management: Managing time and multiple engagements effectively.
- Problem-Solving: Demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Achieve at least Degree certificate in related field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in preparing company accounts for audit.
- Prefer candidates with experience in managing company accounts and audit.
- Able to communicate in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
- Knowledge of tax calculations.
