Job Description:
- Supervise and manage all construction operations on-site, including but not limited to civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical works, ensuring that all activities are executed in strict compliance with the project specifications, established quality standards, applicable safety regulations, and all relevant legal and statutory requirements.
- Serve as the principal liaison between the project manager, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site teams. Ensure the efficient flow of communication, facilitate coordination among all parties, and maintain professional relationships to ensure the successful execution and delivery of the project in accordance with agreed timelines and expectations.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, industry codes, and client specifications throughout the project lifecycle. Conduct regular inspections, audits, and quality control checks to verify adherence to safety standards and ensure the quality of workmanship is consistently maintained.
- Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific procedures and method statements for all construction activities, ensuring that they adhere to industry best practices, regulatory standards, and project specifications. Review and approve work procedures and ensure they are followed by all personnel on-site to guarantee safe and efficient execution of tasks.
- Continuously track, assess, and report on the progress of all construction activities, ensuring that milestones and deadlines are met in accordance with the project schedule. Proactively identify potential delays or deviations from the plan and take immediate corrective actions to minimize project disruption and maintain timelines.
- Oversee and ensure the efficient management and allocation of resources, including labor, machinery, raw materials, and equipment. Ensure the timely procurement and availability of necessary materials and resources, and maintain appropriate stock levels to prevent delays. Monitor and ensure the proper maintenance, servicing, and operational.
- Ensure the strict enforcement of health and safety protocols and procedures, in full compliance with relevant safety legislation and best practices. Conduct regular safety audits, address any hazards or risks promptly, and ensure that all workers adhere to established safety guidelines. Proactively identify and manage any risks that could impact the safety of workers or the project.
- Proactively identify potential challenges, including technical issues, resource shortages, machinery breakdowns, or delays. Provide swift and effective solutions to mitigate risks and ensure the continuous progression of the project without compromising safety, quality, or schedule.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date records of all construction activities, materials used, equipment and machinery maintenance, labor resources, and safety compliance. Provide detailed reports to senior management, outlining progress, challenges, resolutions, and any pertinent project updates to ensure transparency and informed decision-making.
- Undertake any additional tasks or ad hoc duties requested by senior management from time to time.
Qualification:
- A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and methods for both plant and building.
- Proficiency in using construction management software and tools.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage site teams effectively in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
Experience
- At least 2-3 years of relevant experience in building works and earthworks.
