Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic IT team. The DBA will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of the company's databases. This role includes planning and development of the database, as well as troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Management:
    • Install, configure, and maintain database management systems (DBMS) such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.
    • Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.
    • Manage database availability and performance, including disaster recovery, database backup and restore procedures.
  • Data Security:
    • Implement and enforce database security protocols to ensure data privacy and protection.
    • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with security standards and regulations.
  • Performance Tuning:
    • Analyze and optimize database performance through tuning and query optimization.
    • Implement best practices for database design and development to improve efficiency.
  • Data Integrity:
    • Ensure data integrity and accuracy through regular database maintenance and validation checks.
    • Develop and maintain database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions.
  • User Support:
    • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to database users.
    • Collaborate with developers and IT staff to design and implement database solutions.
  • Project Management:
    • Participate in the planning and execution of IT projects involving databases.
    • Work with project teams to determine database requirements and design solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator, with hands-on experience in database management.
  • Proficiency with database management systems (DBMS) such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, PolarDB, MongoDB and etc.
  • Strong knowledge of database structure, theories, principles, and practices.
  • Experience with database security, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and disaster recovery.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Microsoft Database Certifications:
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate - This certification validates skills related to implementing and managing operational aspects of cloud-native and hybrid data platform solutions built on Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Azure Data Services.
    • Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate - This certification is designed for those who enable businesses to maximize the value of their data assets using Microsoft Power BI.
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert - Although broader in scope, this certification demonstrates advanced proficiency in designing and implementing solutions that run on Microsoft Azure, including aspects related to database services.
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate - This certification focuses on designing and implementing data solutions that use Azure data services such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, and related technologies.
  • Experience with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, PolarDB).
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and automation tools.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, big data technologies, and business intelligence tools.
