Security Officer (Hotel)
Position Summary:
The role as Security Officer is responsible for securing all Hotel properties, guest and clientele, ensuring that set security and safety procedures are followed.
Scope and Responsibilities:
· Responsible For securing all hotel properties, staff and clientele in accordance with the procedures laid down in the Security Manual.
· Observes guests and others and patrols lobbies, corridors back of the house areas, public rooms and surroundings to detect infringements or suspicious behavior: interviews guests and staff: approaches and questions suspicious persons courteously.
· Assists security Officer in investigating incidents involving disturbances, accidents, loss, thefts, etc. Occurring in the hotel during his shift.
· Warns trouble-makers: cautions careless person.
· Accompanies Assistant Manager or Front office manager, or Guest Relations Manager or night manager in investigating irregularities in guest rooms and public areas when so requested.
· Obtains assistance for accident victims and writes necessary accident reports.
· Records details of significant incidents or activities occurring during his shift in his official pocket Diary.
· Notifies superiors of presence of persons of questionable repute, and keeps such people under close surveillance.
· Performs duties common to all rank and file non-supervisory personnel and other duties as may be assigned.
· Maintain courteous relations with guests and staff.
· Instills trust on the part of staff; not fear or suspicion.
· Performs First Aid as needed.
· Is a member of the Hotel’s Fire Fighting Team.
· Makes recommendations that could improve productivity or increase the standards of guest service.
· Attends in service training course and such other courses as may be directed from time to time.
· Support and exercise the MERLIN values.
Background and Experience:
· Requires at least one (1) year of security and/or law enforcement experience.
· Requires excellent communication skills, excellent reasoning ability and interpersonal skills.
· Prior family theme park experience is helpful.
· Guard card a plus, must be able to successfully complete CPR and First Aid certification.
· Position requires pre-placement physical.
Education:
Candidate must possess at least SPM or Professional Certificate Diploma in Safety & Security or Hotel Management or any relevant discipline.

· Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings & weekends to support hotel operations.
