Executive, AOG Desk

Reports To

Assistant Manager, Material Operations

Role Purpose

To provide 24 hours and 365 days coverage for Control of Aircraft Spares. To provide the necessary support for the Engineering Department and to procure priority requirements during and out of normal working hours. Maintain total spares support to prevent costly expenses being Incurred by an AOG situation. Any such incident possibly resulting in flight cancellation and subsequent loss of revenue.

Key Accountability

  • To act as the main focal point for the supply of priority requirements to Line Maintenance, principal job functions covered to achieve this goal include: a)Verification of applicability and effectivity and its alternatives. b) World wide materials sourcing c) Negotiation with potential suppliers on prices and terms for both purchases, exchanges and loans. d) Placement of purchase or Loan order with appropriate sources
  • Daily review and report of Line Maintenance parts request and availability. The organisation and co-ordination of appropriate transport to effect priority delivery to point of requirement.
  • Coordination with Outstation Engineers for removed material to return to base with minimum delay for warranty and repair activities thus ensuring continued availability for the rest of the fleet.
  • Authorise the loan or sales of company material to third party Airlines and maintain daily monitoring of all loan activity to minimise costs.
  • To provide optimum spares support by anticipating the likely requirement, and to utilize all available resources to prevent any necessary aircraft delay situation.
  • Ensure work being conducted in compliance to company SOP and SCM processes. Prepare daily report of all parts request, availability and issue.

Qualificaiton & Experience

  • Degree in any field of Engineering preferable Supply Chain Management or Business Administration or equivalent with 0-2 years experience in Supply Chain or Engineering fields
  • Diploma in any field of Engineering preferable Supply Chain Management or Business Administration or equivalent with 03 years experience in Supply Chain or Engineering fields

Skills & Knowledge

  • Ensure work that will be conducted in compliance to company SOP and in inventory management.
  • Knowledge and access to OEM portals. Use of IT tools to assist with decision making and reporting.
  • Skills and knowledge in supply chain process, warehouse and logistics
  • Possess leadership, problem solving and decision making skills

Key Challenges

Ability to work to deadlines and identity and act on priority requirements.
Good working knowledge of CAA/FAA/JAR and materials related procedures and
To understand IPC /CMM/FSCM and all aviation quality standard procedures.
Must be articulate and capable of negotiation with a wide range of national and
International Airlines personnel on the supplies of priority requirement.
