Job Description
1. Lead Generation:
- Identify and engage potential clients through cold calling, networking, referrals, and lead generation platforms.
- Leverage market research to uncover new sales opportunities.
2. Consultative Selling:
- Understand customer energy needs and assess their site's solar potential.
- Conduct site visits, analyze energy consumption, and propose tailored solar PV solutions.
3. Relationship Building:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders in the solar industry.
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing technical expertise, answering questions, and addressing concerns throughout the sales process.
4. Sales Presentations and Negotiations:
- Prepare and deliver persuasive presentations, product demonstrations, and proposals to effectively communicate the benefits and financial returns of solar PV systems.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing terms while ensuring customer satisfaction and profitability.
5. Market Research:
- Stay up to date with industry trends, technological advancements, government incentives, and regulations related to solar energy.
- Continuously gather market intelligence to identify potential competitive advantages and improve sales strategies.
6. Sales Administration:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of leads, sales activities, and customer interactions using CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless project handover and customer satisfaction post-sales.
7. Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with technical teams, project managers, and installation crews to ensure successful project implementation.
- Share knowledge and best practices with colleagues to enhance team performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, environmental science, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in sales or business development, preferably in the solar or renewable energy sector.
- Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, components, and technologies.
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal solar energy policies, incentives, and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with customers and stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze client needs, provide tailored solutions, and close deals.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with a disciplined approach to meeting targets.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for client meetings and site visits.
