Purpose
Manages and controls system development projects. They conduct complex business analyses and software development work and provide technical advice and guidance to colleagues to support the specification and development of software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with business product owners to drive product and customer service initiatives.
- Lead the technical delivery of assigned projects, ensuring adherence to design requirements and timelines.
- Collaborate with delivery leads and engineering teams to discuss architecture, design, and implementation strategies.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the insurance and financial industry to suggest effective solutions.
- Contribute to best practices and patterns for the Life/Asia Admin System architecture.
- Support junior team members and guide them in technical solutions and project execution.
Requirements:
Qualifications and Skills
- 5-7 years of experience in the insurance or financial industry, with a focus on core policy administration systems, particularly Life/Asia or Life/400.
- Strong design and programming skills in COBOL/400, SMART/400 COBOL Programming, AS/400 Control Language (CL), SQL.
- Strong understanding of life insurance policy administration features and functionalities.
- Knowledge of integrating with other surrounding applications around core application like Sales Portal, Workflow, and underwriting engines.
- Proven experience in omnichannel integration and environment management.
- Effective problem-solving abilities and a solution-oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to engage effectively with cross-functional teams.
