Position overview
We're looking for a hands-on and proactive Instrumentation Technician to join our team! If you have solid experience in industrial mechanical maintenance in the chemical industry and enjoy solving technical challenges, this is your chance to be part of a dynamic environment.
You'll play a key role in keeping our equipment running smoothly, improving plant efficiency, and ensuring safety standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and diagnose faulty machinery or equipment to determine defects.
- Perform repairs, adjustments, and lubrication to maintain equipment in optimal working condition.
- Conduct preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance on all machinery and utilities.
- Assist in developing and maintaining preventive maintenance programmes and spare parts inventory.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and ensure availability during weekends, holidays, and after hours.
- Improve, modify, or fabricate equipment to enhance safety, efficiency, and productivity.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records through daily work order reporting.
- Collaborate with vendors and supervise contractors for equipment maintenance when necessary.
- Ensure proper housekeeping in maintenance areas.
- Adhere to environmental, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Comply with company policies on safety, ethics, and quality objectives.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Required skills and experience
- Minimum 3 years’ industrial maintenance experience, ideally in the chemical industry.
- Skilled in mechanical maintenance including turbo machinery, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities and working knowledge of plant utilities (e.g., compressors, cooling towers, heaters).
- Proficient in preventive maintenance, welding, pipe fitting, and fabrication.
- Able to resolve complex equipment issues and drive safety and efficiency improvements.
- Physically fit to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks in confined or demanding environments.
Qualifications
- SPM qualification.
- Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronic Engineering, or a related field.
