Job Summary:

We are seeking a creative and experienced Pastry Chef to lead our pastry and dessert section in a luxury hotel environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking, excellent culinary skills, and experience in producing high-quality desserts, pastries, and baked goods for a variety of outlets including restaurants, banquets, and room service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and execute a wide range of pastries, desserts, breads, and other baked goods.
  • Develop new recipes and seasonal dessert menus in collaboration with the Executive Chef.
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation standards are maintained.
  • Supervise and train pastry staff; manage daily workflow and station assignments.
  • Oversee inventory, ordering, and cost control for pastry ingredients and supplies.
  • Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are followed in the pastry section.
  • Work closely with banquet and restaurant teams for special events and large functions.
  • Stay up to date with dessert and plating trends to enhance guest experience.
  • Maintain compliance with all health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Culinary Arts or Patisserie from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Pastry Chef or Sous Pastry Chef in a hotel or fine-dining environment.
  • Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary pastry techniques.
  • Creative flair and attention to detail.
  • Excellent leadership and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
