Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and talented Sous Chef to join our culinary team in the Coffee House at Cyberview Resort & Spa. This role is key in supporting the Executive Chef to deliver an exceptional food experience to our guests in a casual, welcoming café environment within the hotel. The Sous Chef will help lead the team, ensure food quality and consistency, and maintain high standards of hygiene and service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head/Executive Chef in managing daily kitchen operations specific to the hotel’s coffee house.
  • Prepare and oversee the production of high-quality coffee house cuisine, including breakfast, light meals, baked goods, and grab-and-go items.
  • Ensure that all food is consistently prepared and served according to recipes, presentation standards, and guest expectations.
  • Supervise, train, and motivate kitchen staff; foster a positive and efficient working environment.
  • Monitor and control inventory, portioning, food waste, and costs.
  • Enforce sanitation and safety standards in accordance with hotel policies and local regulations.
  • Assist with menu development, including seasonal and promotional items aligned with guest trends and preferences.
  • Ensure seamless coordination with the café/barista team for smooth food and beverage service.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or senior cook in a hotel or high-volume café/coffee house.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation for café-style dining and breakfast/lunch service.
  • Solid understanding of food hygiene and safety regulations (e.g., HACCP).
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional training is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to work shifts including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
