Role Overview:

The Certified School Counsellor provides essential emotional, academic, and social support for students. This role involves individual and group counselling, collaboration with staff and parents, and the development of programs that foster student wellness and resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer confidential counselling services to students on academic, social, and emotional matters.
  • Develop and implement preventive mental health and wellness programs.
  • Respond to student crises with appropriate interventions and referrals.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and leadership on student support strategies and accommodations.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential counselling records in line with professional standards.
  • Deliver workshops for students, staff, and parents on mental health and well-being topics.
  • Support student transition programs and orientation for new families.
  • Uphold and promote safeguarding policies throughout the school.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Counselling, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Certified or licensed counsellor (national or international certification required).
  • Minimum 2–3 years of counselling experience, preferably in an international or multicultural school environment.
  • Deep understanding of child and adolescent development, mental health, and learning differences.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with international education systems (e.g., IGCSE).
  • Experience working in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Training in trauma-informed care, mindfulness, or restorative practices.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
