- Review incoming emails, calls, and liaise with clients.
- Address customer inquiries and provide suitable solutions.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings with clients as required.
- Act as a liaison between clients and production team to ensure smooth communication.
- Prepare initial cost estimates for inquiries and projects based on provided drawings, specifications, and requirements.
- Source materials, work out the cost for Fabrication as per client’s requirement
- Obtain quotations from subcontractors and suppliers for price comparison
- Generate quotations as per calculated pricing.
- Procure required materials for awarded projects.
- Negotiate pricing and manage schedules with subcontractors and suppliers
- Review and evaluate cutting plan drawings for fabrication needed.
- Oversee purchase orders, subcontractor works and contract documentation.
- Monitor and manage variation orders, final accounts, and work orders.
- Evaluate work progress and recommend payments.
- Negotiate with contractors and subcontractors to optimize project costs and timelines.
- Maintain project records, contracts, and pricing databases.
- Liaise with the accounts department to prepare and issue deposit invoice or final payment.
- Collaborate with the sales team to provide accurate pricing and proposals.
- Provide coverage for the Assistant QS during leave/absence to ensure operational continuity.
- Evaluate the packing list and invoice for Logistics to/from SG – JB
- Assist in issuing invoices during the absence of the account’s personnel.
- Handle ad-hoc duties assigned by management
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably in the engineering or metal industry.
- Experience in reading Marine industry drawings is a plus.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is a must.
- Fluent in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and to communicate in Mandarin (to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients).
- Strong knowledge of cost estimation and contract management.
- Experience in sales, client management, or business development is an advantage.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
