Support Group Executive
The National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) is seeking a dedicated Support Group Executive to oversee the recruitment, administration, and maintenance of NCSM's support groups. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers have access to well-structured and effective peer support. Reporting to the Guided Patient Support (GPS) Coordinator, the Support Group Executive will be responsible for engaging with members, managing group activities, and ensuring the sustainability of support services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support Group Management & Development:
- Recruit, onboard, and manage support group facilitators and members.
- Ensure the smooth functioning and sustainability of all support groups under NCSM.
- Develop and implement strategies to expand the reach and effectiveness of support groups.
- Monitor and evaluate support group activities to ensure alignment with NCSM's objectives.
2. Administration & Coordination:
- Maintain accurate records of support groups, including membership details, meeting schedules, and impact reports.
- Ensure timely reporting and documentation of support group activities and outcomes. Coordinate logistics for support group meetings, including venues, virtual platforms, and required materials.
3. Community Engagement & Outreach:
- Promote NCSM's support groups through various outreach efforts, including social media, events, and partnerships.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for inquiries related to support groups.
- Foster relationships with hospitals, NGOs, and stakeholders to enhance group participation.
4. Quality Assurance & Impact Measurement:
- Collect and analyze feedback from support group members to improve effectiveness.
- Implement best practices to enhance the quality of support provided.
5. Event & Workshop Coordination:
- Organize training sessions, workshops, and events for support group facilitators and members.
- Identify relevant guest speakers, experts, or activities to enhance group sessions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, communications, healthcare management, or related fields.
- 1—3 years of experience in community engagement, volunteer coordination, or healthcarerelated support roles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to engage and work with diverse communities, including patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.).
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team. Experience in event planning and facilitation is an added advantage.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 24 months
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
