(A) MAIN RESPONSIBILITY
Project Planning and Management
- Develop project plans, including scope, budget, and timelines.
- Oversee the entire construction process, from inception to completion.
- Ensure that projects are executed in accordance with established plans and specifications.
Resource Allocation
- Allocate resources such as labor, equipment, and materials efficiently to meet project goals.
- Manage subcontractors and vendors, including negotiation of contracts and agreements.
Budgeting and Cost Control
- Develop and monitor project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring cost control.
- Identify and address budget variances promptly.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure construction work meets quality standards and complies with building codes and regulations.
- Address quality issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
Risk Management
- Identify potential project risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Manage project insurance and claims when necessary.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, and manage construction staff, including project managers, supervisors, and laborers.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and performance feedback to team members.
(B) COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).
- Extensive experience in construction management, with a proven track record of successfully completing projects.
Working Experience
- At least (5) year of working experience in the relevant field is required.
Special Knowledge / Core Competencies
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment.
- Familiarity with relevant construction codes and regulations.
- Strong project management skills, including budgeting and scheduling.
- Leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
**Willing to travel frequently between Klang Valley and Johor Bahru
