In this position, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing all aspects of contractual agreements within our construction projects. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, negotiating contracts, and mitigating risks associated with contractual relationships.
Job Description
1. Contract Negotiation:
- Lead negotiations with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to establish mutually beneficial contractual agreements.
- Ensure that contracts are aligned with project specifications, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
- Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them during contract negotiations.
2. Contract Administration:
- Managing the Contract lifecycle, including but not limited to draft, modification, execution, amendments, and renewal of Contracts.
- Oversee the administration of contracts throughout the project lifecycle, including monitoring compliance with contractual obligations.
- Work closely with project managers and finance teams to ensure seamless execution of contractual requirements.
- Address and resolve contractual issues, disputes, and claims in a timely manner. Reconciliation of discrepancies related to contract invoices with Accounts Payable.
- Maintenance of a centralized file, storage and documentation system for all contract-related material, updates of contract templates and generation of exhibits.
3. Risk Management:
- Conduct thorough risk assessments for each contract, identifying potential risks and proposing strategies for risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with Legal to draft and review contract terms and conditions, ensuring they align with company policies and industry standards.
4. Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Serve as a point of contact for contractual matters and ensure effective communication to resolve issues promptly.
5. Compliance:
- Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure contracts comply with legal requirements.
- Implement and maintain contract management policies and procedures.
- Assist and support any other ad-hoc assignments as assigned from time-to-time.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Bachelor’s degree in Contract Management or related field
- Minimum 8 to 10 years of related experience in building construction
- Attention to details is an added advantage
- Ability to manage project, contractors and project team independently will be an added advantage
