About the Role
One of the main functions of the Group End User Technology Team is to provide application packaging, deployment and central app store services across all Windows desktops (around 45,000). The role holder main responsibility is to develop, test and maintain software packages for distribution to user desktops, troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise: either silently or with visible progress as required. This role is also critical to ensuring that application packages and common plug-ins are kept up to date and security vulnerabilities are patched in a timely fashion. The role holder must have a working knowledge of Configuration Manager (SCCM, Intune) to manage the Windows service. Roles and Responsibilities
- Create, test, update and deploy application packages - MSI & EXE, PowerShell, VBScript, Microsoft Registry, App-V, Java, other
- Expertise in packaging, repackaging and automating software installation for a range of Windows Desktop software’s
- Good logical diagnostic skills; ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues such as file and registry related application problems and folder security, domain user security on Windows Operating Systems.
- Troubleshooting and resolving complex and escalated Application issues using tools such as Process Monitor, Process Explorer and Dependency
- Responsible for application lifecycle management for hundreds of applications and SCCM/Intune based company central app store and participate in project work, e.g. managing applications lifetime (from application intake until retire), taking care updating of existing applications in the company, troubleshooting application packages.
- Creating and maintaining software technical documents for applications.
- Release readiness, collaborate with technology architects, service owners and vendors
- Develop automated scripts to handle custom requirements and automated tool for application management
- Provide support on package functionality or deployment issues in production.
- Provide support of in application build for desktops, laptops, and Virtual desktop environment.
- Drive process improvements and Automations to increase effectiveness and Quality.

Minimum Job Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of working experience on Application Packaging
- Create, update and deploy application packages - MSI & EXE, PowerShell, VBScript, Microsoft Registry, App-V, Java, other
- Minimum 3 years of Expertise in packaging, repackaging and automating software installations for a range of Windows desktop software using software packaging technologies.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience on Windows Installer technology and MSI databases.
- Good logical diagnostic skills; ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues such as file and registry-related application problems on Windows operating systems.
- Minimum 1-3 years on Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM, Intune) with respect to virtualizing and deploying applications.
- Self-motivated, quick learner, able to work unsupervised and to contribute as an effective member of the team.
