ROLE INTRODUCTION The Resident Administrator at Marlborough College Malaysia holds a pivotal role in supporting the operational and administrative functions of the College, ensuring the seamless execution of educational and boarding services. PURPOSE OF JOB • Collaborate with the resident house team to ensure the comprehensive wellbeing—academic, physical, social, and emotional—of every student within the assigned House. • Oversee and enrich all aspects of the academic and personal development of students in the Upper School. • Serve as the principal conduit for communication regarding student progress between educators and parents. • Promote the development of leadership qualities and foster a cohesive, supportive House community that aligns with the institution’s strategic goals. • Uphold and elevate educational standards and manage educational processes with efficacy and precision. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Assist in the delivery of instructional activities, sports programs, extracurricular activities, and boarding duties according to the established timetable, ensuring that all activities are meticulously planned and executed. • Provide expert support to teaching staff in the accurate implementation of the British education syllabus, facilitating curriculum integration and educational strategies that adhere to national standards. • Contribute to the continuous development of curriculum planning, evaluating and enhancing educational practices based on feedback and performance data. • Collaborate with colleagues to advance the College’s educational priorities and ethos, fostering a collaborative and supportive academic environment. • Participate actively in departmental and whole-school meetings, contributing to the development of strategic initiatives and the implementation of institutional policies. • Ensure alignment with the College’s pedagogical approaches and teaching styles, supporting the department’s aims and adhering to established policies. • Undertake supervisory responsibilities for students during lessons, activities, and breaks, including invigilation and covering for absent colleagues, maintaining high standards of conduct and academic integrity. • Attend and contribute to Common Room meetings, Master’s briefings, and other pertinent gatherings as directed by the Head of School or Master. • Maintain comprehensive and accurate administrative records related to student performance, attendance, and wellbeing, ensuring timely updates and reporting. • Address any concerns regarding Child Protection or instances of bullying promptly, adhering to the College’s safeguarding protocols and reporting procedures. • Develop and enforce policies related to student welfare, safety, and academic integrity, ensuring compliance with regulatory and institutional standards. • Engage actively in the College’s extensive co-curricular programme, including sports, arts, and other extracurricular activities, contributing to a vibrant and enriching student experience. • Provide high-quality pastoral care and support within the boarding community, fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment for boarding students. • Facilitate effective communication with students, parents, and staff, ensuring a supportive and engaging educational atmosphere. • Represent the College at various community events, meetings, and activities, embodying and promoting the College’s values and educational goals. • Adhere to all College policies, including those pertaining to Health and Safety, Child Protection, and academic standards. • Stay abreast of developments in the British education syllabus and related regulations, ensuring that all practices are aligned with current national and international standards. • Participate in the development and implementation of strategic plans for educational and administrative improvement. • Contribute to the orientation and induction of new staff and students, ensuring a smooth transition into the College environment. • Support the integration and effective use of educational technology tools and platforms, including the management of student information systems (e.g., iSAMS).
