Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior VoIP Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our Asterisk-based VoIP infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in VoIP protocols, PBX systems, SIP trunking, and Voice security. You will play a critical role in optimizing communication systems, troubleshooting complex VoIP issues, and ensuring high-quality voice services. Key Responsibilities: Design, configure, and maintain VoIP infrastructure including Asterisk-Based IP PBX, SIP trunks, and gateways. Troubleshoot and resolve complex VoIP and network issues related to call quality, latency, and jitter. Design and configure SIP trunks, call routing, and dial plans for high availability and scalability. Implement and maintain SIP, RTP, QoS, WebRTC and other VoIP-related protocols. Ensure VoIP security by mitigating threats such as toll fraud, SIP attacks, and DoS. Integrate VoIP systems with CRM, contact centre platforms, and other enterprise applications. Monitor system performance and conduct capacity planning for scaling VoIP infrastructure. Monitor and maintain VoIP infrastructure uptime, redundancy, and failover mechanisms. Collaborate with network engineers to ensure seamless VoIP and data network operations. Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and VoIP architecture diagrams. Analyze and troubleshoot SIP signaling, media flow, and VoIP performance issues. Optimize call quality, latency, and jitter using QoS, network tuning, and codec selection. Implement TLS, SRTP, and SBCs to secure voice communications. Conduct penetration testing, fraud detection, and prevention measures. Ensure compliance with industry regulations (HIPAA, PCI-DSS, GDPR, etc.) where applicable. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior VoIP engineers. Required Skills & Qualifications: Degree in Information Technology and Certifications in VoIP, Open-Source PBX system. 7+ years of hands-on experience in Asterisk-based VoIP engineering and network administration. Expertise in SIP, RTP, H.323, MGCP, and other VoIP protocols. Experience on installing and maintaining IPPBX systems such as Asterisk, FreePBX and any open-source systems. Strong knowledge of SIP trunking, call routing, and VoIP codecs (G.711, G.729, Opus, etc.). Understanding of firewalls, NAT, VPN, VLANs, and network security for VoIP. Familiarity with cloud-based VoIP solutions (Nice, Genesys, AWS Chime, Zoom Phone, etc.). Hands-on experience with Wireshark, tcpdump, and VoIP monitoring tools. Knowledge of Linux and scripting (Bash, Python) for automation is a plus. Knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPN, QoS, NAT, firewall rules, SBCs)
