About the Role

Responsible to perform and execute Shariah research & advisory function by ensuring business and services follow Islamic law by providing expert advice, creating compliant solutions, monitoring adherence, staying updated on Islamic finance, educating staff and outsourced servicing partners, and overseeing ethical practices.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Shariah Compliance: Ensure that all Takaful products and services adhere to Shariah principles.
  • Advisory Services: Provide Shariah advisory and consultancy services to internal stakeholders, including the management team, product development, and marketing departments as well as outsourced servicing partners.
  • Shariah Review: Work closely with Shariah Compliance Team to Conduct regular reviews and audits of the company's operations and activities to ensure ongoing compliance with Shariah principles.
  • Training and Development: Organize and conduct training sessions for staff to enhance their understanding of Shariah principles and their application in Takaful operations.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation and reports on Shariah compliance activities and findings.
  • Liaison with Shariah Committee: Act as the primary point of contact between the company and its Shariah Committee, facilitating communication and ensuring that the Shariah Committee's directives are implemented effectively.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate Shariah non-compliance risks within the organization

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Shariah.
  • 5 years’ experience in handling Shariah research & advisory function.
  • Proficient command of spoken and written English in order to effectively communicate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate in Arabic is an added advantage.
  • Detail-oriented, efficient, responsible, self-motivated.
  • Positive thinking with growth mindset.
