Key Responsibilities: • Sichuan Sauce Preparation: o Create, refine, and prepare a variety of traditional and innovative Sichuan sauces, ensuring authenticity and quality. o Experiment with and develop new sauce recipes to keep the menu fresh and exciting. • Ingredient Selection: o Source and select high-quality ingredients, including Sichuan peppercorns, chili oils, fermented bean paste, and other essential sauce components. o Maintain an understanding of seasonal and regional ingredient availability for optimal quality and flavor. • Menu Development: o Collaborate with the Head Chef and kitchen team to integrate Sichuan sauces into various dishes, enhancing the overall dining experience. o Contribute to menu ideation sessions with creative approaches to Sichuan cuisine. • Quality Control: o Monitor and maintain the quality of all sauces and dishes served, ensuring they meet the restaurant's standards for presentation and taste. o Conduct regular taste tests and adjust recipes as needed to maintain consistency. • Kitchen Management: o Oversee the sauce preparation area, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and adherence to food safety standards. o Assist in training kitchen staff on Sichuan sauce preparation techniques and culinary practices. • Inventory Management: o Track inventory levels of sauces and ingredients, placing orders as necessary to ensure an ample supply while minimizing waste. o Maintain proper storage and labeling of all sauces and ingredients to ensure freshness and compliance with health regulations.
