Key Responsibilities:
1) Financial Reporting:
- Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, including revenue, expenses, and accruals.
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements in accordance with accounting standards, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal controls.
- Take a lead role in managing the year-end audit process and liaising with auditors to ensure smooth operations.
2) Financial Planning:
- Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, ensuring that financial objectives align with company goals.
- Provide strategic insights and analysis on financial performance, offering recommendations to management for improving profitability and efficiency.
- Develop detailed financial reports for senior management and support decision-making with actionable financial data.
3) Cash Management:
- Monitor and manage the company’s daily cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operations and capital investments.
- Oversee bank account reconciliations and cash position reporting, ensuring the efficient use of financial resources.
- Assist in the development of cash flow forecasts and collaborate with other departments to implement effective cash management strategies.
4) Leadership and Succession Planning:
- Act as a potential successor for the Head of Finance, gaining exposure to high-level financial decision-making and leadership responsibilities.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior finance staff, ensuring strong team performance and professional development.
- Collaborate closely with senior management and other departments to ensure seamless coordination across all financial operations.
5) Cross-Department Collaboration:
- Work with other departments to gather relevant financial data, and ensure the timely submission of required reports and forecasts.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with internal controls, financial regulations, and reporting requirements across the three key sections.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent are highly preferred.
- Experience: More than 10 years of experience in accounting, finance, or related fields, with significant exposure to financial reporting, financial planning, and cash management. Prior experience in a leadership or senior accounting role is essential.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and ERP systems. Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and cash management practices.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead teams, mentor junior staff, and drive organizational change.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail in all financial reporting and data management tasks.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex financial data, identify key trends, and provide actionable insights.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior management, auditors, and other stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving Skills: A proactive approach to identifying challenges and implementing improvements to financial processes.
