Project Planner
Role Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Planner to lead the planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting activities across all phases of project execution. This role is vital in ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with contractual obligations. The planner will work closely with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to provide clear, data-driven direction and ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain comprehensive project planning packages (Level 1–3), including schedules, resource loading, progress measurement, risk assessments, and cash flow forecasts.
Establish planning methodologies and procedures, and support contractors in aligning with project control expectations.
Prepare baseline and detailed schedules that include contract milestones and cascade planning requirements into subcontracts.
Support bid and tender submissions with planning inputs and documentation.
Monitor project schedules and provide control measures to track progress and ensure timely milestone achievement.
Collect and integrate planning inputs from project teams (PMT), breaking down tasks and operations into the master schedule.
Conduct performance and variance assessments, and support change management processes by providing impact analysis.
Monitor key productivity KPIs to identify deviations and recommend recovery actions for project control.
Prepare accurate and timely project reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) to support management decision-making.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
Proven experience in project planning and scheduling, preferably in engineering, construction, or oil & gas industries.
Proficient in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Excel; experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI) is an advantage.
Strong understanding of project controls, critical path methodology, resource planning, and risk assessment.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
Preferred Experience
5+ years of experience in project planning or scheduling roles.
Familiarity with EPCIC projects, fabrication yards, or large infrastructure projects.
Exposure to Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.
Experience in supporting contract administration and delay analysis is a plus.
Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
