Duties & Responsibilities
Contract & Cost Management
- Draft, review, and negotiate contract terms, payment schedules, change orders, and variations.
- Ensure all contracts comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction phase to maintain budget adherence.
- Conduct regular cost reporting and forecasting, providing updates to project stakeholders.
- Manage and resolve cost disputes and claims with contractors and clients.
Procurement & Tendering
- Oversee the procurement process, including tendering, bidding, and contractor selection.
- Prepare and manage subcontractor letters of award and certification.
- Negotiate with contractors regarding project costs, scope changes, and claims.
Project Coordination & Financial Oversight
- Assist in managing the overall project timeline, ensuring milestones are met and costs controlled.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of interim and final payment applications.
- Evaluate and approve contractors’ work to ensure compliance with contract terms.
- Prepare and submit progress claims, monthly valuations, and variation orders.
- Manage final accounts to ensure smooth project closure.
Site Measurement & Documentation
- Conduct and prepare site measurements and re-measurements as required.
- Coordinate with the project team to maintain accurate project documentation.
- Draft and manage contract documents, O&M manuals, and as-built documentation.
Stakeholder Management & Reporting
- Maintain strong relationships with contractors, consultants, and project teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Prepare regular progress reports on cost control, procurement, and financial aspects of the project.
- Ensure the team operates efficiently, meeting deadlines and financial goals.
- Perform any ad-hoc tasks assigned by HOD.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of experience in a Quantity Surveying role.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with contractors and project teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of construction contracts and procurement processes.
- Enthusiastic, adaptable, and eager to learn.
- Excellent written and spoken English and Mandarin skills.
- Ability to work independently.
