Manager, Corporate Taxation & Advisory

Reports To

Senior Manager, Taxation

Role Purpose

Assist the Head of department in leading tax affairs of the Group to provide tax optimization and ensure tax compliance.

Key Accountability

  • Lead and manage tax compliance matters for the Group companies.
  • Assist the Head of Department in monitoring departmental costs and driving cost-saving initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Shareholder's Strategic Investor Initiative as per Shareholders' timeline.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for corporate tax matters across business units and internal stakeholders.
  • Serve as key liaison with regulatory bodies and government authorities, managing tax incentives and audits.
  • Advise management of new or proposed legislation, decisions, regulations, and rulings in tax and related areas.
  • Lead process and system changes arising from changes in legislations, regulations and rulings.
  • Review and oversee the lodgement of local and foreign tax statutory reports to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Drive special projects and lead initiatives focused on operational efficiencies and system enhancements.
  • Provide mentorship and performance reviews for junior team members, supporting their professional development.
  • Foster a positive and high-morale environment within the tax department.
  • Collaborate and contribute to the broader Group Reporting & Corporate Planning team, supporting cross-functional initiatives and business unit needs.

Qualifications & Working Experience

Bachelors in accounting, finance and/or tax with at least 7-9 years' work experience in the field of taxation.

Areas of Experience

Experience in local & international tax legislation

  • Possess in-depth understanding of tax and accounting principles and practices.
  • Possess good knowledge of Word processing, spreadsheet and presentation tools (Word / Excel / Power point).
