The Tax Manager is responsible for managing all tax-related matters for the organization, ensuring compliance with Malaysian tax laws and regulations, and providing strategic tax planning to optimize the company’s tax position. This role involves managing both direct and indirect taxes, handling tax audits, and liaising with tax authorities. Key Responsibilities: Ensure full compliance with all Malaysian tax regulations (e.g., Income Tax Act, Sales and Service Tax (SST), withholding tax). Manage the preparation and submission of timely and accurate tax returns (corporate income tax, SST, withholding tax, RPGT, etc.). Provide strategic tax planning and advice to optimize tax efficiency. Lead and manage tax audits and investigations by the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) or Royal Malaysian Customs. Review and assess the tax implications of business transactions and contracts. Keep abreast of changes in tax legislation and provide guidance to the finance team and other departments. Liaise with external tax consultants, auditors, and government tax authorities. Support transfer pricing documentation and compliance. Train and mentor junior tax staff, ensuring team development and knowledge sharing. Provide quarterly/year-end tax provisions and deferred tax computations in accordance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS). Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, ICAEW, or CTIM are preferred. Minimum 4–5 years of experience in tax, with at least 2 years in a managerial role. Strong understanding of Malaysian tax laws and regulations. Experience with tax software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with various stakeholders. Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
