Department: Technical / Design / Engineering Reports To: BIM Coordinator / Project Manager / Design Manager Location: Project Site or Head Office (depending on project requirements) Job Purpose: The BIM Modeller is responsible for creating and updating accurate and detailed 3D and 2D BIM models based on project specifications, architectural and engineering drawings. The role ensures coordination across multiple disciplines using Building Information Modelling software to support design, construction planning, and project execution. Key Responsibilities: Model Development: Develop and update 3D models using BIM software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Civil 3D). Interpret and incorporate architectural, structural, and MEP drawings into coordinated models. Coordination & Clash Detection: Participate in BIM coordination meetings with consultants, engineers, and contractors. Conduct clash detection and resolve coordination issues using tools such as Navisworks or BIM 360. Documentation: Generate construction drawings, shop drawings, and detail drawings from BIM models. Ensure all models and drawings are compliant with project standards and company protocols. Quality Assurance: Maintain data accuracy and model integrity. Ensure version control and model updates are accurately documented and communicated. Collaboration: Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., architects, engineers, site teams) and external stakeholders. Liaise with consultants to resolve design issues related to the BIM model. Project Support: Assist in quantity take-offs, scheduling, and visualization tasks from the BIM model. Support the digital delivery of information for tender, construction, and as-built stages. Requirements: Education: Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar role within the construction or architectural industry. Technical Skills: Proficient in BIM software: Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD. Familiarity with BIM standards (e.g., ISO 19650, CIDB Malaysia BIM guidelines). Knowledge in MEP, architectural, and structural modeling is an added advantage. Soft Skills: Good communication and coordination skills. Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work under tight deadlines. Able to work independently and in a team environment. Additional Advantage (Optional but Preferred): CIDB BIM Level 2 Certification or similar recognition. Experience with cloud-based platforms like BIM 360, ACC, or Trimble Connect.
