About the role

This Purchasing Executive role is a key position within the Procurement team at Moonlight Manufacturing Sdn Bhd. Based in Skudai, Johor, this is a full-time position responsible for the end-to-end purchasing function to support the company's manufacturing operations.

What you'll be doing

  • Source and negotiate with both local and overseas (especially China) suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and product quality.
  • Keep up-to-date with current market trends to ensure product selection is aligned with consumer demand.
  • Maintain and manage purchasing processes using the Autocount system.
  • Handle correspondence with suppliers, including writing professional emails in fluent English for inquiries, quotations, and negotiations.
  • Prepare and manage all related documentation, including purchase orders, invoices, delivery orders, and shipping documents.
  • Work closely with internal departments like production, sales, and inventory to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
  • Create purchase orders based on production department requests.
  • Analyze sales and inventory data to make cost-effective purchasing decisions.

What we're looking for

  • Experience with China-based sourcing is a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge of snacks and toys market trends is preferred.
  • Proficient in Autocount software.
  • Strong command of written and spoken English.
  • Good at identifying cost-saving opportunities based on data analysis.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and paperwork handling skills.
  • Able to work independently and communicate effectively with both suppliers and internal teams.
