Core Responsibilities: 1. Precision Agriculture System Design & Implementation Architect and deploy integrated AgTech systems including soil moisture sensors, weather stations, GPS-guided equipment, and variable-rate technology (VRT). Develop and configure IoT-based platforms for real-time monitoring of environmental and crop parameters. Conduct field trials and systems validation using edge devices and embedded platforms (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32). 2. Data Acquisition & Analytics Develop ETL pipelines to ingest data from remote sensors, satellite feeds (e.g., Sentinel, Landsat), and drones. Build and maintain data models to support crop health analytics, yield prediction, and disease detection. Apply computer vision and machine learning algorithms (CNNs, decision trees, etc.) for pest identification, biomass estimation, and anomaly detection. 3. Geospatial Intelligence & Remote Sensing Perform image classification, NDVI/NDRE analysis, and geospatial data fusion using tools like Google Earth Engine, QGIS, or ArcGIS Pro. Analyze multispectral and hyperspectral imagery from UAVs and satellite data sources to guide agronomic decision-making. Integrate GIS layers with field-level data to support zone management and prescription mapping. 4. System Integration & Automation Design APIs and data integrations between farm management systems (FMS), ERP software, and sensor networks. Implement automation workflows using tools like Node-RED, MQTT, or custom Python scripts for remote device control and alerts. Develop dashboards for real-time visualization of agronomic KPIs (e.g., evapotranspiration, canopy cover, nutrient stress). 5. Client Enablement & Technical Documentation Conduct technical feasibility assessments and develop detailed system architecture diagrams. Provide documentation, user manuals, and training materials for end-users and client IT/agronomy teams. Troubleshoot system issues and perform root cause analysis for hardware/software malfunctions in the field. Technical Skills & Requirements: Programming Languages: Python (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow), R, JavaScript (Node.js), SQL Tools & Platforms: Google Earth Engine, ArcGIS/QGIS, OpenCV, TensorFlow/PyTorch, AWS/GCP/Azure, Grafana, Tableau/Power BI Hardware: Experience with microcontrollers (Arduino, ESP32), RTK-GPS, LoRaWAN, PLCs, UAVs (DJI SDK or Pix4D) Protocols: MQTT, HTTP REST, LoRa, Modbus, OPC-UA Cloud/Data Pipelines: Kafka, Apache NiFi, AWS IoT Core, S3, Lambda, PostGIS, InfluxDB AgTech Software: Trimble Ag, Climate FieldView, FarmLogs, Ag Leader SMS, Agisoft Metashape, DroneDeploy
