Key Responsibilities:
1. Workplace Safety Monitoring
- Conduct daily safety inspections within the warehouse to identify hazards, unsafe practices, or non-compliance.
- Ensure safe placement and handling of goods to avoid blockages, fire hazards, or injury risks.
- Check the condition of warehouse safety equipment (fire extinguishers, emergency exits, PPE, etc.).
- Monitor warehouse staff to ensure the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
2. Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure warehouse operations comply with OSHA, DOSH, and other applicable local safety regulations.
- Maintain proper documentation of safety audits, incident reports, training records, and risk assessments.
- Prepare safety checklists and ensure daily/monthly records are completed and filed accordingly.
- Assist with obtaining or renewing safety-related certifications and permits.
3. Safety Training & Briefings
- Conduct safety inductions for new staff and visitors.
- Organize regular safety training and drills (e.g., fire drills, emergency evacuation).
- Provide refresher training on handling hazardous materials, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment.
- Raise awareness among warehouse staff on safety procedures and emergency response plans.
4. Incident & Accident Investigation
- Respond immediately to accidents or safety incidents.
- Conduct thorough investigations and root cause analysis of incidents.
- Recommend corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
- Submit timely reports to management with findings and improvement suggestions.
5. Risk Assessment & Hazard Control
- Perform routine risk assessments to evaluate potential warehouse hazards.
- Recommend improvements to processes, layouts, and storage methods to reduce risks.
- Monitor handling and storage of hazardous substances (if applicable) to ensure proper labelling and containment.
- Collaborate with maintenance to ensure equipment and tools are in good, safe condition.
6. Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with warehouse supervisors, logistics teams, and facility maintenance for continuous safety improvements.
- Serve as the point of contact for safety matters and liaise with authorities during audits or inspections.
- Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement among all warehouse staff.
Requirement:
1. Education & Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Health, Logistics, or related field.
- Certification in OSHA, NEBOSH, NIOSH, First Aid, Fire Safety, or Emergency Response is a plus.
2. Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in warehouse safety, compliance, or industrial health and safety.
- Previous experience conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, racking systems, hazardous materials).
3. Technical Skills & Knowledge
- Strong understanding of OSHA, DOSH, and local workplace safety regulations.
- Knowledge of Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) frameworks, hazard identification, and risk control procedures.
- Familiarity with Safety Management Systems (SMS) and compliance documentation (e.g., JSA, HIRARC, PTW).
- Proficient in creating safety reports, maintaining audit trails, and using MS Office tools for documentation (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
4. Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for training sessions and safety briefings.
- Strong observation and analytical skills to detect hazards and identify root causes of incidents.
- Able to lead and influence warehouse teams in adopting a safety-first culture.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
5. Physical & Operational Requirements
- Physically fit to conduct daily walk-through inspections in warehouse and industrial environments.
- Willingness to respond to emergencies and work outside regular hours if required (e.g., during incident investigations or drills).
- Able to operate or oversee handling of safety tools and protective equipment.
6. Other Desirable Traits
- High integrity and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to coordinate with local authorities (e.g., fire department, DOSH) during inspections or permit renewals.
- Experience in managing safety certifications, audits, and legal compliance documents
