Key Responsibilities: -
Accounting Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
- Coordinate and manage external audits and ensure timely completion of all audit requirements.
- Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decisions.
- Ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
- Mentor and support junior accounting staff.
HR Responsibilities:
- Assist in the recruitment process for accounting department roles, including job postings, candidate screening, and interviewing.
- Conduct onboarding and training for new hires in the accounting department. Manage employee records and ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.
- Address employee queries and issues related to HR within the accounting department.
- Support performance management processes, including performance reviews and goal setting.
- Coordinate professional development opportunities for accounting staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software e.g. Autocount, UBL and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic knowledge of HR functions and practices is a plus.
