Key Responsibilities: -

Accounting Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
  • Coordinate and manage external audits and ensure timely completion of all audit requirements.
  • Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
  • Mentor and support junior accounting staff.

HR Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the recruitment process for accounting department roles, including job postings, candidate screening, and interviewing.
  • Conduct onboarding and training for new hires in the accounting department. Manage employee records and ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.
  • Address employee queries and issues related to HR within the accounting department.
  • Support performance management processes, including performance reviews and goal setting.
  • Coordinate professional development opportunities for accounting staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software e.g. Autocount, UBL and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of HR functions and practices is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to RM3,500.00 per month
