We are hiring for one of our client for Project Manager (Preffered - Insurance domain projects) in KL.

Position Title: Project Manager

Department: Project Management & Solutions Office (PMSO)
Reporting To: Vice President, EPMO
Location: Kualalumpur

Job Scope / Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for managing transformation and technology implementation projects across their lifecycle. This role ensures that internal and external customer requirements are met, project governance is followed, risks are mitigated, and project benefits are tracked and delivered.

Key Responsibilities1. Project Planning

  • Define and document project scope, deliverables, risks, resources, and benefit measures.
  • Develop detailed project plans aligned with the business case and seek necessary approvals.
  • Establish project baselines and gain stakeholder alignment.

2. Project Execution

  • Create work breakdown structures, assign responsibilities, and identify dependencies.
  • Maintain work schedules with clear milestones and critical paths.
  • Lead regular meetings for progress tracking, tollgate reviews, and issue escalation.
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes and external (e.g., BNM) regulations.
  • Anticipate and mitigate risks, manage change requests, and ensure successful project closure.

3. Post-Implementation

  • Formalize the support model post-deployment.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews and share lessons learned with the organization.

4. Change and Risk Management

  • Chair status meetings, problem-solving sessions, and drive outcome-based discussions.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and secure buy-in from senior management.
  • Ensure timely escalation and resolution of project risks and issues.

5. PMO / Governance

  • Ensure compliance with PMO governance and standards.
  • Define and formalize project roles, deliverables, and accountability.
  • Ensure original project intent and desired outcomes are met.

Qualifications & ExperienceEducation

  • Bachelor’s / Postgraduate / Professional Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent.
  • PMP or Certified Scrum Master certification is preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of IT project management experience, including full lifecycle system implementation.
  • Experience in Core Insurance Systems (AS400), Point-of-Sale (POS), Claims & Customer Portals, Data Lake, Automation, and Cloud projects.
  • Preferred domain expertise in Life/GI insurance, Big Data, Analytics, AI, Security, and Infra.
  • Experience managing at least 5 full-time resources (excluding vendors).
  • Agile/Scrum project experience is a strong advantage.

Skills & Competencies

  • Practical knowledge of Waterfall, Agile, Kanban methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and advisory skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Effective communication (verbal, written, presentation).
  • Financial and cost management for project budgeting.
  • Ability to influence, negotiate, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM10,000.00 - RM18,000.00 per month
