Summary
The Assistant Manager, Metadata Management will play a crucial role in supporting the Metadata Management Lead in establishing and maintaining a robust metadata management for the Bank. This position will assist in driving the implementation of metadata standards, processes, and solution to ensure data quality, consistency, and accessibility across the organization. The Assistant Manager will assist the lead unit to ensure Bank’s metadata is accurate, complete, accessible, and aligned with business needs and data governance policies. The role is expected to contribute to the overall development and execution of Bank’s data governance framework.
Duties and Responsibilities
Metadata Management Support:
- Assist the Metadata Management Lead in the day-to-day operations of the metadata management unit.
- Support the development and maintenance of a comprehensive metadata repository.
- Assist in the creation and enforcement of metadata standards, policies, and procedures.
- Contribute to the development of metadata workflows and processes for data ingestion, transformation, and consumption.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of metadata management solutions.
- Support and monitor metadata quality metrics and reporting.
- Support to maintain business glossary and technical data dictionary.
Data Quality and Consistency:
- Assist in the identification and resolution of metadata quality issues.
- Contribute data quality assessments to ensure metadata accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor and report on metadata quality metrics.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with data owners, data stewards, and other stakeholders to gather and document metadata.
- Assist in providing training and support to users on metadata management tools and processes.
- Communicate metadata standards and best practices to relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in cross-functional data governance initiatives.
- Assist in creating and maintaining documentation related to metadata.
Data Governance Support:
- Assist in the development and implementation of data governance policies and procedures.
- Support data lineage and data provenance initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of data glossaries and business dictionaries.
- Assist in the identification and management of data risks and compliance requirements.
Tool and Technology Support:
- Assist in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of metadata management solution.
- Help to maintain metadata management solution operational.
- Assist in automation of metadata processes.
Any other related duties as instructed by the superior or Head of Division from time to time.
Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in information management, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
Years of Experience
3 or more years of experience in any of the required disciplines: data management, metadata management, or data governance.
Specific Skills/ Knowledge and Certification Required
Strong understanding of metadata concepts, principles, and best practices.
Experience with metadata management tools and technologies (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica Metadata Manager).
Familiarity with data modeling and data warehousing concepts.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
